Lubrication:

Nikon was using CP-4 from NPC( discont.)

Now is photolub BC-13A. Synthetic oil, lithium soap thickener with 20%PTFE

Other possible candidates are:

Molykote em-30l

For helicoid threads, use lapping compound to polish away the grits. Then NLGI 000 to 3 grade lube, with PTFE.

For Alu and brass, it's suggested to use grade 0
