Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic missile IRBM

Geran-5 drone

  faster variants powered by jet engines known as the Geran-3, Geran-4, and Geran-5. The Geran-3 made its combat debut last year. On Monday, Ukraine's military intelligence agency, the GUR, said Russia had started using the newer Geran-4 in attacks this month "as a countermeasure against the effectiveness of our interceptor" drones. Geran-4 is powered by a Chinese-made turbojet engine and can fly as fast as 500 km/h (roughly 310 mph) and cruise at an altitude of 5,000 meters (1,640 feet), the GUR said. The drone can carry a highly explosive warhead over a distance of 450 kilometers (280 miles). According to the document, the Geran-5 is equipped with a 200 kilogram-thrust turbojet engine, which GUR identifies as being of Chinese origin.  From Nature Nov 2025  sustainability  The rapidly increasing demand for generative artificial intelligence (AI) models requires extensive server installation with sustainability implications in terms of the compound energy–water–climate impacts. Here we show that the deployment of AI servers across the United States could generate an annual water footprint ranging from 731 to 1,125 million m3 and additional annual carbon emissions from 24 to 44 Mt CO2-equivalent between 2024 and 2030, depending on the scale of expansion. Other factors, such as industry efficiency initiatives, grid decarbonization rates and the spatial distribution of server locations within the United States, drive deep uncertainties in the estimated water and carbon footprints.
