MH370 60 minutes australia

The situation room, 60 minutes  Australia youtube Former Senior Investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, Larry Vance, told 60 Minutes he was confident he knows what happened to the aircraft. "I think the general public can take comfort in the fact that there is a growing consensus on the plane's final moments," he said. Mr Vance said the pilot "was killing himself" and took the aircraft to the most remote place possible so it would "disappear". "Unfortunately, he was [also] killing everybody else on board, and he did it deliberately," he said. "He was taking it to a predestination, some place that he had planned to take it, and he flew that six hours to get it there." Mr Vance said he envisioned the plane on the bottom of the ocean, with the fuselage in one piece and the left wing still on. "The right wing may be off, the engines are separate, but you basically have four pieces of aeropl...

Ocean Infinity search

From French satellite Pleiades photo analysis: Assuming that some of the objects identified in the Pleiades images are indeed debris items from 9M-MRO, we have shown that there is an impact location that is consistent with those sightings, as well as all the other evidence reviewed by the First Principles Review. This location is 35.6°S, 92.8°E. Other nearby (within about 50km essentially parallel to the 7th arc) locations east of the 7th arc are also certainly possible, as are (with lower likelihood) a range of locations on the western side of the 7th arc, near 34.7°S 92.6°E and 35.3°S 91.8°E.  We have a high degree of confidence that an impact in the southern half of the search area is more consistent with detection of debris in the Pleiades images than is an impact in the northern half. From CSIRO, The bureau said that location is 35.6°S, 92.8°E. And if it’s not there, MH370 may be at 34.7°S, 92.6°E. Or 35.3°S, 91.8°E Ocean Infinity search map: ...

Fight simulator records from Zaharie's hard drive

New York has obtained a confidential document from the Malaysian police investigation into the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that shows that the plane’s captain, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, conducted a simulated flight deep into the remote southern Indian Ocean less than a month before the plane vanished under uncannily similar circumstances. The revelation, which Malaysia withheld from a lengthy public report on the investigation, is the strongest evidence yet that Zaharie made off with the plane in a premeditated act of mass   murder-suicide.   MH370's presumed flight path is in yellow. Zaharie's simulated suicide flight is in red. The document presents the findings of the Malaysian police’s investigation into Zaharie. It reveals that after the plane disappeared in March of 2014, Malaysia turned over to the FBI hard drives that Zaharie used to record sessions on an elaborate home-built flight simulator. The FBI was able to recover six deleted ...

MH370 debris analysis update

from ATSB on 2 Nov, 2016 Additional analysis of the burst frequency offsets associated with the final satellite communications to and from the aircraft is consistent with the aircraft being in a high and increasing rate of descent at that time .(end-of-flight scenario) Additionally, the wing flap debris analysis reduced the likelihood of end-of-flight scenarios involving flap deployment. Preliminary results of the CSIRO’s drift analysis indicated it was unlikely that debris originated from south of the current search area . The northernmost simulated regions were also found to be less likely. Drift analysis work is ongoing and is expected to refine these results. MH370 Search Update

with more data from various sources, more confidence is gained to the most probable search area. updated MH370: updated barthmetric progress map

up til 22 Aug, 2014, more than 70% of high priority area have been mapped and analysed. So it's very good progress. from ATSB:

MH370 search goes to new phase

after may 2014, now the search moved to a new search team. The new search zone comes as Dutch engineers begin a survey to map uncharted deep sea terrain at the bottom of the Indian Ocean in search of the plane. A survey ship from Dutch engineering company Fugro, carrying 40 crew and technicians, began mapping out an area larger than the Netherlands, some 1,600 kilometres off the West Australian coast. The search for the lost plane is being coordinated by the ATSB, and is expected to cost $60 million in the first year. Fugro usually conducts surveys of ocean floors for oil and telecommunications companies. Strategy director Rob Luijnenburg says this search area is in a particularly rough location. "The area has mountains, ridges, valleys, and you can't see a lot down there unless you make it visible with technology," he said. "For the first phase you need a good map, once you have that you can plan the next phase." It will take roughly three month...
