24 steps per revolution x 5 microsteps = 120 microsteps steps per revolution
chestnut said in kickstarter, one step is 80 um??, and one microstep is 15 um??
In the chestnut x manual:
Espresso 5-7 clicks (6 -12 clicks in G1)
Pour over 15-18 clicks (15 -24 clicks in G1)
French Press 18-22 click (24 clicks in G1)
so for X, the coarser steps are similar to G1
the microsteps mechanism seems to be based on ball bearing and different pit depths of 5 settings. as it is using aluminum as material, i am not sure how durable or rigid it can be. how to make sure it is 15 microns per microsteps. It is well below normal specified tolerances ( +/- 50 microns) and the locking by spring force? spring force is definitely not strong enough to hold the microns changes. Seems to me such microsteps is just marketing gimmick.
cross-cut + conical burr : faster cutting in coarse cutting phase. Some says the grinding speed is now as fast as C40
well, normal CNC milling is +/-0.05mm (ISO-2768). How they can go beyond this?
let's see
now selling for 1699 rmb at Taobao. If it is 10% to 20% higher than G1, the pricing would be attractive. Now it is set 33% or more higher than expected price range
