Appeared on the poster in 香港教育大學, 教育博物館
More I looked at the photo, I have got more questions than answers
Who were they?
Looks like students in High school, or university. But undergrads seldom wear school uniforms
眼鏡: 方框 wellington frame?
But the school uniforms are seldomly seen in HK. This looked to be from Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, or other SE Asia countries. China?
When was it taken?
It's in black and white film days.
So can be post WWII to 70s.
The teacher was carrying a rangefinder camera. Minolta hi-matic (1972)? So likely be in 70s.
The Telescope mount is driven by some sort of AC synchronous motors, so it looked like to be in 70s. Unitron? Spacek? Coast Instruments?
If this is taken in HK, this looked like the event happened during the times when 廖慶齊was actively promoting astronomy in schools, and maybe near his residence
Where was it taken?
This is most intriguing. Most just thought it's in HK. But was it really?
What were they doing?
In broad day light, either watching the sun or moon. But there seems to some sort of sun protection filter in front of telescopes. Was it a eclipse event? Sunspot observation?
