透過雙層CMOS設計，IMX858能使光電二極體與像素電晶體拆分，並且以堆疊形式組合，藉此降低光電二極體影響像素成像，進而提高感光元件整體進光量，以及減少噪訊產生比例，另外也能提高低光環境下的拍攝表現與動態範圍。
