MT7628 是联发科技 2014 年底发布的业界新一代 2T2R 802.11n Wi-Fi AP/路由器系统单芯片解决方案(SoC)。这款全新 SoC 为智能家庭内的数据、语音和影像应用程序提供高数据传输率，而且耗电量远低于目前市场上其他同类产品。它和 MT7620 一样具有 2T2R 300M WiFi 速率，接口丰富，但是它比 MT7620 功耗更低、芯片成本更低，专门针对物联网应用推出 3个串口、PWM 输出等特点，可谓是 MT7620（2012 年发布）的升级产品。
MT7628 和同年发布的 MT7688（150M WiFi）是同一类芯片，两者管脚、软件几乎完全兼容。
