recently, change to use New Yahoo Mail. I thought everything is just fine.
But then I found problem to attach files. The "attach" icon keeps on looping for minutes ( forever ) and didn't complete
I thought it was Yahoo Mail. But it's definitely related with Ubuntu too.
If I use another PC running Windows, and use Internet Explorer or Firefox to do same thing, it works !?
It seems to me similar to Adobe flash stuff plugins in Firefox.
EG, there is non working flash videos, cannot attach multiple files in Yahoo Blog
Need to dig more.
Have fun

follow the link, and did what it does
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Flash%20does%20not%20work%20properly%20or%20will%20not%20update
Now sure that the flash plugin is using adobe
itś actually located in /etc/alternatives
ls fire-fox-flashplugin -al
firefox-flashplugin -> /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libflashplayer.so
so whatś still stopping?

after several testing with different configs, now it becomes clear:
new Yahoo mail doesnt like Ubuntu
it works when:
a)browser = firefox 3.6.18
mail = yahoo mail classic
os = ubuntu 10.04 ( lucid )
b)browser = firefox
mail = new yahoo mail
os = win vista
c)browser = internet explorer
mail = new yahoo mail
os = win vista
it doesn't work when :
d)browser = firefox
mail = new yahoo mail
os = ubuntu 10.04 (lucid)
It doesnt matter if you start up firefox with a clean new profile or not. The problem lies in new Yahoo Mail. Somehow, I feel it's still in Beta status.

did again. Nothing changed really, but just let Ubuntu updates itself.
Mysteriously, the file attach works again !?
e) browser = firefox 3.6.18
mail = new yahoo mail
os = ubuntu 10.04 (lucid)
>>> works now.
I start to think itś Yahoo thatś corrected the problem, and not my side.
Note: after some time of use of new yahoo mail, you do not have chance to switch back to yahool mail classic. you can do either:
1) on a machine that has an older version of browser. eg I use an old iMac with Safari, or whatever older browser version. Then you tell Yahoo Mail to switch back to Yahoo Mail Classic
2) if you are using latest version of firefox, install a plugin called user agent switcher
link
NB : user agent refers to the browser version sent out to servers during browsing
